Chili Cook-Off Rules

Hey Chili Lovers! Thanks to the growing number of supporters and attendance to MMMS, and the yearly FPC/Crocktoberfest Chili Cook-off we have decided to adjust the cook-off format slightly for contestants. This aim is to give more people the chance to try your chili and vote.  In order for each contestant to have a better chance to show their chili making talents, and opportunity to win the GOLDEN TOILET SEAT the following changes are being implemented to the entry requirements/recommendations:

*Crockpots will no longer be used!!!
Contestants will need to bring their chili in a full size Aluminum Chafing Pan measuring (21”x 13”) or two (2 - 9” x 13”). This holds up to 2 Gallons. Previously contestants have had no requirements for volume of chili to compete. This year we are placing a minimum volume of chili to be made at 1 gallon. However, in the spirit of a “level playing field” FPC/MMMS recommends contestants make about 2 Gallons of chili for the required Aluminum Chafing Pan measuring (21”x 13”) or two (2 - 9” x 13”). This change is intended to give contestants the same opportunity and number of people tasting their chili, and make an informed vote !

Each contestant is responsible for bringing their chili in a Aluminum Chafing Pan measuring (21”x 13”) or two (2 - 9” x 13”), as well as their own serving utensils & any toppings by 11:00 am, Saturday, September 23rd. If you require your chili to be reheated please arrive at 10:00 and the FPC/MMMS Volunteer Chili Committee will reheat and stir prior to serving to the attendees. FPC/MMMS will provide each contestant with table space, a Wire Chafing Rack, Chafing Dishes filled with hot water to hold their Aluminum Chafing Pan, and Sterno Cans. Also provided for chili tasters will be tasting cup, spoons, napkins.
Please email chili.mmms@gmail.com to participate.
